About the event

Explore the enduring fascination behind the nude body in western art, a subject that has captivated artists for over a millennia. Over three hours in a discussion-led session we will unveil the historical, cultural, and philosophical contexts that have shaped artists' enduring fascination with the nude. From prehistoric carvings to avant-garde interpretations, we'll dissect the symbolism, aesthetics, and controversies surrounding this iconic artistic motif. This workshop is for all abilities - for those that do not know anything about art and want to learn more, as well as for more experienced art historians and anyone wanting to expand their knowledge on art or visual culture.
