Hello.

I'm a writer, editor and guide based in Bristol. I'm the author of two books (and currently working on my third).

PINCH ME: Trying to Feel Real in the 21st Century was published by Ortac Press in 2023. Tackling the ancient subject of reality through a contemporary lens, the work is a raw, lyrical reflection on finding connection with oneself, one another and the modern world. It has since been translated into Italian (Toccami, Blu Atlantide, 2024).

In 2021 I was commissioned to write the first monograph of the modern British painter Wilfred Avery. Wilfred Avery and the Unpredictable Image was published by Unicorn in 2023. In the same year, I curated a retrospective of the artist, which opened at the Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon alongside publication of the monograph.

I hold an MA with Distinction in Art History, Curatorship and Renaissance Culture from the Warburg Institute in London. I teach and guide in museums and cultural sites all over the UK and abroad, including at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, The Fondazione Joan Miró in Barcelona, London's Royal Albert Hall and with the National Trust. I currently tutor for both Art History Abroad, Artemisia and The Art Institute, and run my own writing and art history courses in Bristol.

Working like this, at the interface between art and the public - has left me adept at transforming complex ideas and academic jargon into something both accessible and entertaining. This feeds into my editing, where I work largely with artists and academics, helping to bridge the gap between vision and word.

I also have extensive events experience. I've managed the Frieze art fair press office two years in a row,  worked as the weddings and events manager in a busy Oxford pub, and am currently working as Press Office Manager for Hay Festival.
